Please read this document carefully as it contains important information about my professional services and business policies.
I abide by the BACP Ethical Framework, a copy of which can be found as below:
- Confidentiality
All sessions are completely confidential unless the following circumstances should occur:
If I believe that you are at risk of harming yourself or others
If I believe that you are at risk of harm from others
Where I am legally obligated to do so
- Sessions
All sessions need to finish on time (50 minutes) regardless of what time the session commences, therefore please try to arrive on time or your session will be much shorter than expected. If you are going to be late please call or send a text as soon as possible as I may assume you are not attending and will leave the building after 20 minutes into the allocated time slot.
- Payment
Payments MUST be made either in advance of sessions by bank transfer, or at the end of each session by either cash, cheque, bank transfer or electronic card reader. If, for any reason, you are unable to pay as expected, I ask for payment to be settled within 48 hours. Thereafter, an invoice will be sent by email if these terms are not met.
- Cancellation Policy
I operate by a 24hr cancellation policy; although unforeseen circumstances do occur I am obliged to charge 50% of the session fee to cover travel and room rental costs should you cancel within 24 hours of a scheduled session. Outside of this I will do my best to reschedule depending upon availability. Alternatively, should I need to cancel a session I will aim to give as much notice as possible.
- Session Notes & Supervision
I am required by my insurance company to keep a record of session notes, which will be brief and do not include names or such personal details as to be identifiable to the client. All details are kept locked in a file as per data protection rules. I attend monthly supervision to ensure that I work ethically and to the best of my ability under such guidance by counselling professionals.
